  1. Underligt, det var da ellers alletiders reklame for dem.

  2. Hi Everyone!

I'm one of the designers (Benita Skinner - Victoriana Quilt Designs - from Canada) that had my Autumn Pumpkin block directions illegally posted here by Laila.
It's so great that you are interested in the Glorious Autumn Block Party the Michele Foster of the Quilting Gallery put together for quilters around the world!

Here's why I personally didn't want her to post the blocks the way she had.

She didn't give me, as a designer any credit for the design nor did she give you a link to come visit my site, which is something I should expect if I'm doing the work to design the block for quilters.

I took part in the Block Party, offering the free block, so new visitors can discover my really great quilting site!

Laila could have given you all the information in Danish, and then a link back to my page for you to request the file with the instructions, but instead she chose to give you my file directly, with no incentive for you to visit my site.

I'm sure the other designers are feeling the same about their blocks, too.
Laila was basically taking all of our work and using her site to distribute without credit to the creators...which is unfair everywhere.

I hope you will all will still enjoy the Block Party by visiting the sites that are offering them to you.

    Thanks for understanding...

  3. Thank you, Benita, for an excellent explanation of why we were participating in the Quilting Gallery Block party and why we are opposed to anyone posting our blocks and tutorials. While we do not make a profit from creating these tutorials for Quilting Gallery it is a great way to generate traffic for our own sites. I personally invest several hours a day maintaining my web site and bulding loyalty. One way I do that is through creating free tutorials and projects. The photos and tutorial are clearly marked with watermarks and copyright.

I hope you will continue to enjoy the Glorious Autumn Block Party at the Quilting Gallery site (http://quiltinggallery.com/quilters-fun/autumn-block-party/

    1. Vicky, just so you know it, your block can be found in BlockBase from Electric Quilt. Did you the block that is the program?

If not, you too have violated copyright by copying a block. I tried to share in an easy way for Danish Quilters who do not read english. There were links and notes telling, that I my self did not do the blocks.

  4. I was shocked to learn that my block and directions for it had been posted here. I was very relieved to see that they have been removed. As a new blogger I have been working very hard to build traffic to my blog. It takes a lot of time! Creating a new design, making a block, taking pictures and writing about it takes even more time. Please respect the copyright of others! Please visit my blog at www.quiltinglines.com or the http://quiltinggallery.com/quilters-fun/autumn-block-party/ site to see what I and other wonderful designers have worked so hard to create. Thanks to Michele at Quilting Gallery for letting me know of this copyright abuse!

  5. Hej Laila.

Mange hilsner Inger
